seeclickfix edublog #3

  • Has the status of your issue changed since the last time you checked it?  Explain your answer.

my status has not changed it is on acknowledged still

  • On Edublog #1 you were asked to predict whether or not SeeClickFix would fix the problem you reported.  Did you find that your prediction came true?  Explain your answer.

my prediction did not come true because they responded and said that they could not afford to do every pot hole in oakland and they have many issues to deal with but my issue was not one of them that needed the most attention

  • Are you satisfied with the result of the issue you reported?  Explain why, or why not.

i am not satisfied with the response that i got but i am okay with it because i understand that there are many bigger problems with  the community that they need to fix then fixing a hole in the ground

  • Do you think that SeeClickFix is a useful tool for helping people fix problems in their communities?  Explain your answer.i do think seeclickfix is a good site for people to report issues that are going on in there community and they have a chance of notifying someone about the issue

  • If you could change or improve SeeClickFix, what would you do?  Explain your answer.

i would have this site available for people all around the world because there are many communities tyat are really damaged and they have no outlet

  • Which class project do you think was best able to help the people who resisted an oppression gain agency:  SeeClickFix or the May Day March?  Explain your answer.

i think the may day march was more of a better way for people to gain agency because more people know about it around the world and by joining the people that wants ton gain agency as well can male a bigger impact

  • Do the results of the SeeClickFix and May Day projects imply that one form of resistance is better than another?  Explain your answer.

i do think that the may day form of resistance was better then  seeclickfix because as a community we came together to gain agency but people requesting problems in the community  on  the internet made no impact at all because they can decide if they want to fix the issue depending on the how big the issue is and it shouldn’t have to be a really big problem for the people to fix the issue because in a way is is causing problems with how the community feels about it and another reason for people to make dominant narratives about our communities.

seeclickfix blog #2

  • What did you learn about the status of the issue you reported to SeeClickFix?

i learned that my issue i reported was important because i learned the cause and effect of fixing my issue and i think that my issue is important and needs to be fixed

  • Describe the response you got about the issue you reported.  What was the message you received?  Who sent you that message?

the city of oakland sent me a message saying that they have many  issues that was reported that was similar to mine and  they may not  fix my issue because they cant afford to fix all the potholes that were reported

  • Describe how the 9th grade students are tracking the progress of the issue we reported using stickies and posters.  What do each posters mean?

each poster is an issue that is in our oakland community streets that need to be fixed and that were all acknowledged but some were fixed and some where not .

  • Did you change the status of the issue you reported on a poster?  Explain why, or why not.

mine went from opened to acknowledge i did change the status because someone responded to my issue that was reported

  • Did any patterns emerge on the poster about which issues are resolved, and which are not?  Explain your answer.

most of the class was acknowledged and very few are still in the open status

  • Do you think 9th grade students are gaining agency based on their efforts on this project?  Explain your answer.

i think that the 9th grade students are gaining agency from things because they can report issues that they feel are things that are apart of a counter narrative people make about the city of oakland.

Explain how our class decided what our protest goals would be.

we asked question then we had a website and we write what we want to protest about and had every one each class period say what they think we should protest about

Do you predict that that May Day student protest will be successful?  Explain your answer.

i think that it would be successful because there are going to be a lot of people that see us and notice what we are protesting for

edubolg post #3

I live in oakland ca

I think the neighborhood i grew up in was pretty ruff

I would describe myself to be  very head strong

I think i am a pretty loving daughter

Some things that make up me is violence family friends and love

One of the pictures i chose was multiple images of black men’s mug shots and the image is saying that it is more common for black men to go to jail than any other race. Also it is saying that it another reason why there is so many reports about white police officers shooting black men because white people make up this story that we as black people are very violent and dangerous

The image i chose to represent black men being educated and smart and alive. Also i chose a image of multiple black men in a capn gown and graduating this is saying that black men are not always gang bangers and dangerous and been to jail and that is showing the story’s white people think about us as black men woman and that image is proving them all wrong

I chose a image of a piece of cake and that is saying something about me and its saying i love food and i love cake and in just love to eat period

My shadow box is showing what i love and everything about me on the inside and on the outside it is showing what i think about the dominant narratives about my race.and this is showing people that i do see all the violence and all the things people have to say and  do take those things serious .and those thing about black men and women do bad thing and having lots to do with violence but people are capable of anything people make those decisions because they have either been to jail or just didn’t do anything about what they want to be so they chose violence and gangs
